In 2024, I had the opportunity to bring home Jupiter's sister and the auntie to many of my favorite does. I've admired Jersey for a long time and jumped on the chance!
She is an incredibly correct doe. Just standing naturally, she is beautiful. Jersey is more dainty and dairy than many of my herd, with a flatter, lighter bone than her littermate brother Jupiter. She is MUCH smaller than other girls in the herd, topping the scales at only around 100lb and standing about 22"
Despite her age, Jersey is only a third freshener in 2025, as she was on an extended lactation for GoGo's, staying in milk for over two years. She's got a few first and second placings in the v-show for GoGo's, even on an extended lactation.
Jersey kidded with twin doelings this spring. She was overly protective for the first week but she loves her girls! Jersey is a funny girl, quiet and I see some of the funny traits in her that I do my others, like resting their chins on the fences to watch you.
Jersey is on milk test this year and I will update as that progresses. I am still working on udder shots from 2025 as well! I did get a couple from the first milk test. She had her rump tucked up but you still see how very lovely her udder is. Butter soft. Milks down well. Not a huge orifice but not tiny. Very smooth fore. Excellent attachments.
We did get a complete lactation for little miss Jersey Girl. I wish I could have gotten her in her prime but I was happy to get an idea, at least!
